Professional workplace behavior is essential to our success at Mines. Professional boundaries establish appropriate workplace behavior and create an environment that is respectful and inclusive for employees. Your Human Resources Employee Relations team has created this learning opportunity focused on discussing professional boundaries, appropriate workplace behaviors and how to respond to situations when an individual falls short of expectations regarding behavior in the workplace.

Description:

As supervisors you are expected to manage complex interactions with your team. The complexity is increased further with hybrid work schedules, ever changing employment law landscapes and no two situations being the same. To support your learning and development in this area, your Human Resources Employee Relations team has developed the Building Skills to Promote Employees’ Success series designed to equip you with the practical skills to effectively motivate and foster positive team dynamics.

 

Part I- This first course will provide you with tools and resources to establish a framework and culture that sets you and your employees up for success.

Part II- This follow-up course will walk you through some real-life examples of potential disruptions in the workplace and what steps you can take to course correct.

Difficult conversations in the workplace are common, however, initiating and engaging in those conversations can be challenging for many. Learn how making small, strategic adjustments in your communication will lead to more effective and productive conversations. Through class discussion and practice scenarios, you will learn techniques to initiate, and successfully complete difficult conversations.
