When do my benefits start?
Benefits for Classified employees are provided and administered by the State of Colorado. Classified employees, who are newly hired will have 31 days from your date of hire to enroll in benefits, and they are effective the first of the month following your hire date. Classified Employees who have been re-hired, need to make sure their previous agency has transferred your previously elected benefits to MINES.

What type of benefits am I eligible for?
Benefits elections include medical, dental, life insurance, voluntary retirement plans, and long-term disability insurance.
All mandatory retirement contributions have already been assigned and acknowledged during onboarding and the contribution is set at 11% from the employee.

How do I enroll?
All benefits enrollments must be completed through the State of Colorado’s benefits administration system BenefitSolver.
The company code is: SOC.
Documentation
Required supporting documentation for dependents enrolled in any of our benefit plans must be submitted. You will be required to provide this documentation within 45 days of your hire date. Please DO NOT fax or email your documentation to the State of Colorado. You can upload the documents directly into BenefitSolver, email them to benefits@mines.edu, or bring into the HR office directly.
