Classified Open Enrollment is April 20th – May 11th, 2026

Open Enrollment for benefits was originally scheduled to begin April 7, 2026. Due to the unprecedented fiscal constraints faced by the General Assembly, rates were set later than anticipated. Therefore, Open Enrollment will now begin April 20 and run through May 11, 2026.

The 2026 Benefit Guide and Benefit Rates have not been finalized and are not yet available. As soon as we have more information from the State we will have them posted here as well as the State Open Enrollment Page.

2026 Key Dates for Open Enrollment for Classified Employees:

  • Open enrollment period: April 20th- May 11th, 2026
  • Supplement application period: April 7th – May 8th, 2026

Attend one of the four open enrollment webinars for State Employees presented by the DPA-DHR Employee Benefits Unit to learn about updates to your benefits package, what you should do during open enrollment, and more!

Find a time that works for your schedule and register using the links below. Once you are registered, you will receive an email from Zoom on how to join the webinar as an attendee. There is cap for attendance, so we are offering four date options to choose from for this webinar. Spots will be first-come-first-serve, so please register for the date option that works best for your schedule.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be available at all four webinars. Spanish interpretation will be provided for the first webinar and will be recorded.

Reminder: This year is a passive enrollment: If you don’t make changes to your benefits, your current benefit elections will roll into the new plan year, except for FSAs and HSAs which require a mandatory election each year.

 

Are You Eligible for Reduced Premiums?

If you plan on covering one or more dependent children on your medical plan, you might be eligible for premium assistance. You can apply for the State of Colorado’s Medical Insurance Premium Supplement Program from April 7th through May 8th, 2026.

Flexible Spending Account Information:

Participation in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) requires active enrollment each year. If you currently have an FSA, you will have to re-enroll.

Health Savings Account (HSA) Information:

Participation in a Health Savings Account (HSA) requires active enrollment each year along with Medical coverage of HDHP. If you currently have an HSA, you will have to re-enroll.
